When You Say You’ll Do Push-Ups for a Bat, Yasiel Puig Holds You to It

Funny and Happy, Interesting

When a young Dodgers’ fan came to Dodger stadium yesterday with a sign that read, “Will do push-ups 4 a bat,” I bet he didn’t expect to be on the ground in front of Yasiel Puig making good on his promise … but that’s exactly what happened.

Puig apparently saw the fan’s sign in the stands, called the kid down onto the field and asked how many push-ups he could do. “50,” the fan responded (foolishly), before dropping down and getting to work (I would have made the argument that the sign never specified how many push-ups I would do, but that’s probably why I don’t have any MLB bats … or friends). But hard work and a little ambition apparently pays off, because he left with an autographed bat and an even better memory:

Maybe I should go to the gym.
