This College Pitcher Made a Crazy Behind-the-Back, No-Look Catch to Start a Double Play!

Incredible Plays

I’ve heard of fielders making a behind-the-back toss to beat a runner to the bag, but you rarely ever see a behind-the-back, no-look catch …

… let alone from a pitcher!

That’s University of Albany pitcher, J.T. Genovese, making the highlight-reel catch. And how about good on him for remembering to toss the ball over to first to get the double play.

That’s some head’s up (albeit very lucky) baseball, right there.

Here’s Sports Center with the instant replay mid-video to really drive it home:

Genovese ultimately lasted 4.0 innings, allowing two hits with six strikeouts and four walks, before Albany went onto to lose 9-6.
