Ball Boy Makes An Astounding Catch, Gets A Round of Applause from Salvador Perez

The Rays’ ball boy made a fantastic leaping catch yesterday during the Rays/Kansas City game, and you just have to check it out:

So many things to point out there.

First of all, he plays it off so smooth, doesn’t he? There’s almost no reaction other than the tiniest crack of a smile near the end. And did you catch how scared the rest of the bullpen got?

This isn’t the best screen grab, but they almost all hit the deck (Travis Wood would not approve):

Here’s the play again as a gif, including my favorite part of all: the round of applause from the hitter, Salvador Perez:

He even managed to find and give the ball to a kid in the stands. Well done, guy. That’s a five-star ball-boy catch.
